The Venue

The Perfect Venue for The Perfect Day

Built in 1824 and set in 10 acres of beautiful woodland, East Dene Isle of Wight wedding venue is a tribute to Victorian splendour. The past home of Algernon Swinburne – Poet and Raconteur – it is a treasure trove of history, through its time as the Convent of the Sacred Heart and as a Country Hotel.

A Stunning Location

Adjacent to the 11th Century chapel of St Boniface, Bonchurch and the centre of village life for generations – you’ll find everything you need from your wedding venue in one place.

Beautiful Sea Views

On The Isle of Wight, the most magical of British holiday islands, soak up the view from our south facing lawns and gardens. Breathe easy, sit awhile and take things a little more slowly.

Spacious Dining Areas

The Drawing Room and Dining Room are full of original features with ornately decorated ceilings and wooden panelling. Sumptious, atmospheric and truly Victorian, they provide a perfect wedding breakfast backdrop. Marquees, Morroccan Tents and Yurts can sit adjacent to the main house for numbers over 100.

“you turned our dream into a reality”

Thank you so much for your attention to detail, especially in the dining room, which made people gasp – it was so right. The food was wonderful and your hospitality so personal, we felt that we were special guests in your own home. Thank you for making our day superb in every respect.
